SPAAfter being diagnosed as "retarded" by a nasty second grade teacher, the dyslexic Josh Gilbert went on to earn his BA in Economics from UC Santa Cruz and an MFA from USC Film School. He doctored the shooting script for American History X, and wrote many screenplays on spec and for hire and published essays in the New York Press, mrbellersneighborhood.com and Open City. Josh's first documentary "a/k/a Tommy Chong" premiered at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival and has won numerous national and international awards. The project had its worldwide broadcast premiere on Showtime Networks in November, 2008 and on the CBC's Passionate Eye shortly thereafter. It is currently being translated into a variety of foreign languages for international television broadcast.
